Starting the Journey Inward

Therapy for Anxious People-Pleasers

If you find yourself constantly worrying about how others feel, saying “yes” when you want to say “no,” or feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions, you’re not alone. These patterns often come from anxiety—and they can leave you feeling exhausted, resentful, and unsure of who you really are beneath the people-pleasing.

Anxiety can show up as over-functioning in relationships, hyper-attunement to others’ moods, or guilt any time you try to set a boundary. You might even feel like your worth is tied to how helpful or agreeable you are. The truth is, this isn’t your fault—and it doesn’t have to be your future.

Through somatic therapy and a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, I help clients reconnect with their own needs, values, and sense of safety. Together, we’ll work to:

  • Understand the roots of your people-pleasing patterns

  • Build confidence in setting and holding healthy boundaries

  • Develop tools to regulate anxiety and reconnect with your body’s signals

  • Create space for your voice, your needs, and your well-being

You don’t have to keep carrying the weight of everyone else’s expectations. It’s okay to take up space. It’s okay to protect your energy. And it’s absolutely okay to ask for support.

Providing you with a safe space to explore the issues closest to your heart

Individual therapy offers a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore your inner world, process your past, and reconnect with what you truly want for your life.

Are you ready to begin healing old wounds? Curious about why certain things trigger you—or how to break free from patterns that no longer serve you? Do you want to show up more fully and authentically in your relationships?

You don’t have to navigate this alone. I'm here to walk alongside you as you take meaningful steps toward becoming the version of yourself you’re ready to grow into.

About Me

I’m a somatic therapist, artist, and proud cat mom who’s learned firsthand how to live with anxiety instead of constantly fighting it. Along the way, I’ve found comfort and healing in movement, creativity, and nervous system regulation—and I love helping others do the same. When I’m not in session, you can usually find me dancing around my apartment, deep into a good book, stretching it out on the yoga mat, working in my art studio, or enjoying a connective moment with my spouse. My approach to therapy is warm, body-based, and collaborative—because healing doesn’t have to be heavy all the time.

  • I can give a more robust snapshot of who I am by sharing what I was drawn to studying and the life experiences that led me there.

I received my masters in somatic psychotherapy at the California Institute of Integral Studies. I was brought into somatic therapy at a time when I was separately working with doctors, physical therapists and talk psychotherapists, navigating body ailments that were impacting every aspect of my life. What I felt like I was missing was someone who could hold space for how what was happening in my body related to what I was struggling with on an emotional and mental level, and vice versa.

Prior, I graduated from Mills College with a bachelors in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. This foundational area of study contributes to the lens through which I work with clients. As a queer identified individual with lived experiences in kink and polyamory, I feel passionate about working with clients who live in the more marginalized aspects of sexuality. Beyond that, I feel like anyone, regardless of identity, is impacted by societal expectations surrounding gender and sexuality.

With a minor in studio arts, it took me a while to fully embrace the identity of being an artist. That journey, and my relationship to art, is deeply impactful to who I am as a person and as a therapist. Art is a profoundly therapeutic practice for me and is where a great deal of my personal processing takes place. I love working with clients who are creative and/or artistic, regardless of skill level. Whether it is finding ways to support clients carving out more space for creativity in their lives, or doing art therapy in session, I think there is such rich work to be done when art is involved.

Together, these different experiences combine to make me the therapist I am today. If you think I might be a good fit for supporting you in the next part of your journey, don’t hesitate to reach out.

FAQs

  • My standard rate is $200 for 50 minute sessions.

For those who are unable to afford my full fee on a consistent weekly basis, I do have the ability to offer sliding scale. In our initial phone consultation, we will determine a rate that will be sustainable for you on a weekly basis. If you think you will need a sliding scale slot, please have an idea of your budget for weekly therapy before our consultation. If I cannot accommodate your budget, I will help direct you to appropriate referrals who can meet with you at your needed rate.

  • I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill for reimbursement for clients who would like to use insurance to reduce their therapy costs.

You can find out if your insurance covers out-of-network therapy expenses by calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card. If you plan to use insurance to reimburse your therapy expenses, I ask that you agree to meet at my full fee.

  • I ask clients to commit to a weekly time. Consistent weekly therapy is crucial to being able to see any significant progress.

I see clients Monday-Thursday 8am-3pm. Please inquire for current availability.

  • I offer therapy exclusively online to those in the state of California.

Remote telehealth therapy has been shown to be as effective as in-person therapy. Telehealth is a good fit for people who are not able to commute to a therapy office and would rather have their therapy appointment from the comfort of their own home. It is important that you have access to a private space for your therapy, a device with a camera, and a reliable internet connection.

  • It depends. Telehealth offers great flexibility for those who travel. However, given the rules and regulations governing my license, I can only work with clients while they are physically located in California. So, if you travel out of California, I will be unable to meet with you until you return to California.

  • Anything you tell me I will keep confidential. There are a few exceptions to this, in instances of mandated reporting, including threat to yourself, others, children or elders.

  • I have a 48 hour cancellation policy. Any session cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full session amount. If scheduling allows, I am happy to find a time to reschedule the session.

  • I work with all kinds of issues. The best way to find out if I can help support what you are struggling with is to reach out and schedule a phone consultation. If I don’t think I am the right therapist to support your needs, I will help find you appropriate referrals for other therapists who may be a better fit.
